Phone Calls

Will somebody just tell me what is wrong with peoples and calling us so early in tha morning???? This has happened twice this weekend and is seriously disrupting me beauty sleep not to mention me mood. Not only that but, it makes Mommy really grumpy too when hers has to get up and find her phone to answer it.

As you can clearly see from this picture me is not liking the idea of waking up at 7:30 in tha morning on the weekend. This should be against tha law.

Yesterday it was Daddy who called to tell Mommy happy birthday and let her know hims was on his way home. We like knowing when Daddy is coming home and it is very thoughful of hims to call and lets us know but really Daddy...........at 8:00 yesterday morning? You knows me is not a morning puppy.

This morning it was Mommy's friend Margaret calling at 7:30 this morning to tell Mommy happy birthday. That was yesterday and hers shouldn't be calling today to say that to Mommy..........where was her birthday call yesterday me wants to know???? Mommy said that Margaret probably forgot there is a 2 hour time difference between where her lives and here but me doesn't think that's a good enough excuse.

So here's a new rule for everybody. If it's the weekend peoples please don't call before 9:00 in tha morning unless it's really, really, really important. That way me gets all of me beauty sleep and Mommy isn't grumpy.

Happy Birfhday to Mommy!!!!

Happy Birfhday Mommy, me loves you berry, berry much!!!

But me has one itty, bitty, little complaint. WHAT HAPPENED TO THA CAMPING TRIP?????

We was supposed to go camping today for tha whole weekend and then something happened. It's snowing in tha mountains a really lot and that's where we was going. Daddy called tha peoples at Steamboat State Park and thems said it was really, really cold there and thems already had several inches of snow on tha ground with more expected today. WOOF..........this is not fair at all. Me peoples decided that it would be smart to not try to go cause it could be dangerous even trying to get there.

Grrrr me isn't scared of no ole danger...........me barks in tha face of danger or at tha very least me will buff. And everybody knows how much me loves tha snow. Me just loves to play in tha snow and run with me smushed up nose pushing tha snow in front of me so that wouldn't be any problem for me the fearless Murphy Pup.

Me is a little bit worried about tha cold though cause me is a short haired dog and don't get much of a winter coat even though it is only tha first day of fall. Me knows.........Mommy should go buy me a winter coat and some boots too then me would be warm in tha snow and we could go camping. Now me has to wait until next year to go camping and this is a berry long time.

This is what me would look like in a nice red quilted coat. It also somes in a really nice blue too. Me thinks since me is a boy dog me should get tha blue coat. Don't you think me would look bery dashing in this coat and maybe some matcing boots?

Me thinks me will try to get Mommy to take me shopping for a winter coat.......it might start snowing here next and me wouldn't want to be unprepared. Mommy, lets go shopping.

Going on a trip

Mommy just told me something berry berry exciting. Hers said we is going on a trip next weekend. Yep, me said "we" cause Mommy said me gets to go too. Isn't this the bestest news ever?? It's Mommy's birfday next week on Friday and we are going to spend it in tha mountains doing what me really likes to do best..........CAMPING!!!!! WOOOF WOOOOF this is just the best thing every.

First though we has to have a yard sell this weekend. Me isn't sure why me peoples wants to see the yard but, me guesses thems has a good reason. Maybe we is going to get a new yard, although there really isn't nothing wrong with the one we gots. Mommy says we has to get up really early on Saturday morning to sell the yard. Now Mommy knows me is NOT a morning boxer so me sure hopes her isn't expecting me to get up to help. Me will just come downstairs and get on tha sofa and nap with one eye open in case something interesting happens.

An interesting day at the Rainbow Bridge.

The Rainbow Bridge is a place of both peace and anticipation as departed pets await their beloved owners. There are plenty of things to keep them contented while they wait: trees you can't get stuck in, endless meadows, splashing streams, thickets perfect to hide in for pounce-attack games. But one day the residents noticed some rather... unusual newcomers arrive.

The koalas and the kangaroos slipped in rather quietly, but then came thebearded dragons, the skinks and the goannas. The influx of snakes startled anentire family of cats up a tree. Pythons, cobras, tiger snakes, brown snakes and even fierce snakes. There were so many at one point, it seemed the ground itself was alive with writhing. A burly wombat shouldered his way through the crowd and plopped down in a shady spot, barely missing a Jack Russell terrier who yapped indignantly as he abandoned his position. And then the crocodiles showed up.

Finally, a Great Dane managed to get up enough nerve to approach one of the reptilian giants."Um....excuse me," he said hesitantly. "But why are you all here?"The croc dropped her jaw and laughed. "Same as you, mate," she said. "Waitin'for someone who loved us."The dogs, cats, gerbils and other "typical pets" looked at each other in confusion, then at the plethora of weird, ugly and downright deadly creatures assembled. Who on Earth could possibly love some of those faces?"

I see him!" shouted a green mamba from his vantage point in one of the trees. A cacophony of squeaks, hisses, bellows and roars erupted as the mob surged forward toward a lone human walking across the field toward the bridge. The other animals managed to catch a glimpse of him before he was overwhelmed by the crowd."CRIKEY!" he shouted joyously right before he was bowled over by the wombat.

"Well I'll be," said a Persian as she tidied up her fur. "It's that Aussie my human liked to watch on TV. Had to be the craziest human on the whole planet."

Tha Smartest Dog in tha World

Okay so maybe not in tha world but in me world anyway. Do you want to know why me is the smartest dog in me world???? Well because for one thing Mommy said so but the real reason is because me learned how to do something new this weekend.

See this is what happened. All summer long me peoples have lefted the sliding glass door open so me could go in and out by meself when thems wasn't home. This was a very good idea cause me could go get a sun tan when me wanted or nap under the apple tree just any ole time and if it got to hot outside then me could come right back inside. This worked really well all summer long but then Mommy was worried about what thems was going to do in the fall and winter when it was too cold to leave the door open for me.

Mommy decided the very bestest thing to do would be to teach me to use the doggie door. See her's had never done it before cause that kitty Miss Pitty Pat would have learned how to use it and escaped and Mommy didn't want that to happen. Now that Miss Pitty Pat is in heaven Mommy thought it would be a good time to teach me how to use it. Me wasn't thinking this was a berry good idea at all. This would mean me had to use me head to get in and out of the door.

This is me looking inside trying to figger out what Mommy wanted from me. Now just look at the size of that opening and look at the size of me. What is Mommy thinking?? Does her really thinks me can fit through that thing? Me is a pampered pup and needs to be waited on paw and foot like the prince me is. Me doesn't think me is going to like this new door.

Hers had a really good training idea so maybe this won't be so bad. Hers decided the bestest way to teach me how to use the door was with treats. So her got some hotdogs (one of me favorite treats) and cut them into bite size pieces and offered them to me through the door. Okay Mommy, ready for another treat.

Me was very confused about what to do and that ole door made a lot of noise when me put my big ole head against it. It was scarey and me didn't like the plastic thingy flapping on me back when me came through tha door. Mommy knew me could do it and sure enough by yesterday after noon me was going in and out by meself and today Daddy called Mommy at her work place to tell her me was outside when hims came home and me let meself back in. Me really liked it better when me peoples would have to let me in and out or the door was just lefted open for me, but me guesses this will work too although me had hoped thems wouldn't figger out me could do it so quickly.

Daddy is not happy and is yelling really ugly words cause hims is not happy with the Broncos. Me thinks this would be a really good time to go take a nap in me crate and stay out of tha way. Go Broncos...Daddy's nerves can't take you losing.
